Dr. Rosalind Berkowitz King serves as the Project Scientist to the Work, Family, Health, and Well-Being Initiative. She received her PhD in Sociology and Demography from the University of Pennsylvania in 2000. She . She has primary responsibility for research portfolios on fertility, infertility, kinship, and adoption; work, family, and health; and lifecourse and gene X environment approaches to population health. Most recently, Dr. King is co-author of “‘A Conjunctural History of Assisted Reproductive Technologies,” (forthcoming) in the edited volume Understanding Family Chance and Variation, and “Social and Economic Aspects of Immigration,” (2009) in the Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences. Her own research interests and publications span the areas of fertility and infertility, adolescent physical and social development, and the transition to adulthood in developed countries. She previously spent two years as an NICHD National Research Service Award Postdoctoral Fellow at the Carolina Population Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She participates regularly in the meetings of the Population Association of America and the American Sociological Association, and reviews for scientific journals in the fields of sociology and medicine.
